More than 22 graduates of the Navotas Government Apprenticeship Program (NGAP) have started working for the city government.

The NGAP aims to provide job opportunities for residents 18 to 35 years old who have graduated from a two or four-year tertiary course or have completed the K-12 curriculum.

The beneficiaries will receive a P610 salary per day.

A total of 24 individuals also enrolled in the OFW Emergency Employment Program.

“Public service is a noble calling, and I am grateful to all who answer it. Our apprentices and returning OFWs bring fresh perspectives and invaluable experience to our city government. I am glad to see them join our ranks through these programs,” City Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.

Applicants were former Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) age 20 to 55 who were repatriated and have not renewed their contract abroad since 2022.

The said employment programs were financed through the Navotas Gender and Development Focal Point System.
