Anti-narcotics operatives and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) who were killed in the line of duty were honored in simple rites to commemorate the agency's 22nd anniversary on Thursday, July 4.

PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo cited Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) chairman Catalino Cuy for the board’s unwavering support to the cause of the agency.

They paid their respects to the fallen PDEa personnel in a wreath-laying ceremony.

Cuy acknowledged and hailed the efforts of the PDEA agents and operatives who sacrificed their lives in conducting anti-drug operations.

In a message, Cuy highlighted the strong collaboration of the DDB and PDEA in its endeavors and campaigns against substance abuse and illicit trafficking.

“Kahit na mahirap at maraming pagsubok, manatiling tapat ang PDEA sa natatangi nitong mandato. Narito lang kami upang kayo ay suportahan at higit sa lahat ay pagkatiwalaan (Even if it is challenging with lots of trial, PDEA must remain honest to its distinctive mandate. We are here to provide support and most importantly trust you),’’ Cuy stated.

The event also highlighted PDEA's commitment to excellence by awarding the “Best Regional Offices’’ and honoring rank-and-file employees who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service beyond the call of duty.
