Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang is the perfect person to talk about both Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado and Hiroba Minowa, as he has history with both strawweights. And if he’s to be asked, he thinks Miado will finally end his three-fight losing skid in this bout.

Adiwang expects a gritty clash between two men desperate to prove their worth in the strawweight MMA division when Miado and Minowa clash at ONE Fight Night 23: Ok vs. Rasulov this Saturday, 6 July, inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

“As someone who’s faced both fighters and has experienced their strengths, I believe Miado has the edge in this fight,” he said.

The Filipino dynamo is confident that the #4-ranked strawweight MMA contender will once again utilize his wrestling and grappling skills against Miado from the opening bell.

Adiwang knows just how good Minowa can be on the ground, but he’s confident that Miado will do everything to counter it.

After all, if there’s one thing that Miado’s been focusing on since his loss to Keito Yamakita, it’s his takedown defense.

“For Minowa, I believe that he needs to take this fight to the ground and control Miado to try and finish him there via submission or score points on him,” he said.

“That’s the only way Minowa can win in this match.”

As someone who’s traded strikes with Miado in the past, Adiwang believes that his compatriot is on a completely different level on the feet.

While Adiwang is one of the best strikers in the division, even he had to use takedowns to score points on the brilliant Miado in their rematch, proving just how good “The Jaguar” is within striking range.

Should Miado find a way to keep the fight there, Adiwang believes the matchup won’t last long.

“Their striking, on the other hand, aren’t in the same atmosphere,” he said.

“Miado has a very big advantage in the striking department, and it’s all about focusing on connecting and delivering his strikes.”

Regardless of their history, make no mistake about it, Adiwang will be rooting hard for his compatriot.

“He has my support. I want him to win this fight,” he said.

“He can dominate Minowa on the feet, and he has the tools to finish Minowa via KO or TKO.”
