3 suspected ‘salvage’ victims found in Southern Leyte


TACLOBAN CITY – The bodies of three suspected “salvage” or summary execution victims were found under a bridge in Barangay Olisihan, Sogod, Southern Leyte, on Wednesday, July 3.

THREE suspected 'salvage' victims were found in Southern Leyte on July 3.

Police said the male victims were 18- to 25-years-old. Steel wires and packing tape were wrapped around the neck of two victims. The third had a severe wound in the head. 

The victims were believed to be from outside Southern Leyte and were only dumped in Sogod to mislead investigators.

They were taken to the Dodong Amora Funeral Homes in Barangay Casao, Bontoc, Southern Leyte. 

The Sogod Municipal Police Station has requested an autopsy of the cadavers.

A person from Albuera, Leyte claimed that he knows the victims but he has yet to appear and confirm their identities.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.

Police have urged the public to help them identify the victims. They asked those who have missing loved ones to coordinate with Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office through 09985986524.
