SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna – A 13-year-old boy drowned and his 10-year-old friend went missing while swimming in a swamp in Sitio Cataquiz, Barangay San Antonio, this city, on Friday afternoon, July 26.
Police identified the victim as DJ and the missing as Justin, a Grade 5 student, and residents Sitio Cataquiz.
Investigation said the two victims went swimming with a friend in the swamp filled floodwater at around 2 p.m.
Justin drowned and DJ attempted to rescue him but disappeared in the water.
Responders recovered DJ at around 6 p.m. and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Search for the missing victim is ongoing.
