DPWH: 6 Luzon roads still not passable, 8 other have limited access due to 'Carina'


At least six roads in Luzonare still not passable while eight other roads have limited access due to the damage brought by typhoon "Carina", the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Saturday, July 27.

The DPWH said all the affected roads are in Luzon sustained damage such as soil collapse, collapsed pavement due to landslides and flooding.

The closures affect one road in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR ), one in the Ilocos Region, and four in Central Luzon.

The closed roads listed by the agency are Cong. Andres Acop Cosalan Road; Vigan-Caoayan Road at K0409+800-K0409+805 Don Lorenzo Querubin; Romulo Highway, Cacamilingan Section; Paniqui-Camiling Wawa Road, Sawat Bilad Section; San Juan, Balagtas; and Panginay, Balagtas.

Meanwhile, seven road sections have limited access—one in CAR, three in Ilocos Region, and four in Central Luzon.

These sections have one lane passable to light vehicles, including Acop-Kapangan-Kibungan-Bakun National Road; Agoo Beach Road; Junction Santiago-Banayoyo-San Emilio Road; Luna Bangar Road; Wawa Balagtas; Biñang 2nd Bocaue; Matungao, Bulacan; and San Nicolas, Bulacan.

The DPWH said its quick-response teams were dispatched to expedite repairs and clearing operations so that the affected roads may be reopened and ensure access for government relief efforts.
