The Philippine Navy (PN) said Friday, July 26, that it has initiated its own investigation on the death of one of its civilian kitchen staff who fell from the construction site of the New Senate Building in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Commander John Percie Alcos, PN spokesperson, said Friday, July 26, that the deceased staff was a working staff at one of the dining facilities inside the under-construction Senate Building.

The staff was in the process of applying to become a member of the navy. The navy did not disclose the identity of the staff involved in the tragic incident as the family has not yet been notified.

According to reports, the staff fell from the north tower of the building on Thursday night, July 25.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) arrived at the scene at midnight on Friday to begin their investigation.

“The Philippine Navy is also conducting a thorough investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event,” Alcos said.

The PN mourned the passing of the civilian staff and vowed to extend aid to the deceased's family.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased. The Philippine Navy is ready to assist all those affected by this tragic event and will fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies during the conduct of the investigation,” Alcos said.
