Local and foreign airlines at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) returned to normal operations on Friday, July 26, and started accepting passengers following the exit of Typhoon “Carina”.

The Cebu Pacific announced that it has restored normalcy in its operations at 9 a.m. on Friday after days of cancellation of several flights due to the bad weather.

“We sincerely thank our passengers for their patience and understanding during this disruption. As we transition back to normal operations, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing safe, reliable and accessible flights to all our valued customers,” said Cebu Pacific corporate communications director Carmina Romero.

The Cebu Pacific extended its gratitude to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and its local officials as their cooperation and responsiveness “played a pivotal role in the rapid restoration of airport operations, enabling us to resume services promptly.”

The Philippine Airlines and AirAsia Philippines, along with some foreign airlines operating at NAIA terminals, have also returned to normal operations.

Passengers departing at NAIA lined up as early as 4 a.m. at the airline counters for booking of their flights.

Carina left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, July 25, but it continues to enhance the southwest monsoon or “habagat”.
