Father stabs teenage daughter dead in Tuguegarao City

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A 34-year-old security guard allegedly stabbed his 16-year-old daughter to death inside their house in Barangay Carig Norte here on Wednesday night, July 24.

Police identified the victim as Yeshaya Kate Abana Ballad.

Investigation said the suspect, Jude de Asis Ballad, 34, arrived from work and called her daughter.

Yeshaya, who was just in her grandparents’ house nearby, immediately went home to see him.

Moments later, a neighbor heard the victim shouting “Papa, Papa.”

Fernando Allabun Abana, the victim’s grandfather, heard her cries and saw her oozing with blood and being choked by the suspect.

Jude was pacified by relatives and the victim was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead.

The suspect fled after the incident.

Police said motive could be a family misunderstanding.

Yeshaya’s mother had just left to work abroad when she was killed.

Police are pursuing the suspect.
