Construction of P220-M Bacolod City Health Complex starts


BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Albee Benitez on Wednesday, July 24, led the groundbreaking of the P220-million Bacolod City Health Complex in Barangay 20 here.

It is 4,683-square meters and has two four-story buildings situated in the compound of the City Health Office and targeted to be finished within 32 months. It will have modern equipment and state-of-the-art facilities. 

Building 1 will have a floor area of 1,600-square meters and Building 2 is 3,073-square meters. 

“We know for a fact that health is one of those crucial sectors or segments of government assistance that should be given priority,” Benitez said in his message during the groundbreaking.

Benitez shared the perspective design of the complex on his Facebook page after the event.

“After almost a decade, it will be renovated to provide more health services to Bacolodnons,” the mayor said.

Benitez revealed this city’s plan to upgrade mini-hospitals, and primary care facilities.

He said that these could be a step to make this city a healthcare hub in the country. 

“That’s what we want to achieve. We would like to upgrade the existing medical facilities, and on top of that, we can come up with specialized facilities,” he added.

Dr. Grace Tan, CHO officer-in-charge (OIC), is glad about the improvements in the CHO. 

“It is with much pride that the CHO will be enhanced, beautified, and improved for a better Bacolod,” she said.
