Las Piñas LGU evacuates 26 families affected by flood

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar said a total of 26 families or equivalent to 103 individuals were evacuated to Manuyo Elementary School after being trapped by flood brought about by rains caused by the enhanced Habagat and Typhoon Carina on Wednesday, July 24.

Aguilar said Vice Mayor April Aguilar, together with the Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), immediately responded to the victims and provided them with all the necessities  they need after being brought to the school, with the vice mayor particularly attending to the needs of 25 children, with one them still an infant, and seven senior citizens to ensure that they will not get sick due to the bad weather.

According to the mayor, the DRRMO continues to conduct disaster monitoring and rescue operations as it reported the areas not passable to vehicles due to the height of the flood.

These include Zapote junction; Diego Cera Avenue; Alabang-Zapote Road; Marcos Alvarez; Naga Road; Tramo Road; Daang Hari Road; C5 Road Extension; and J. Aguilar Avenue.
