Cordillera cops net P40.3-M shabu, marijuana

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet â€“ Police seized shabu and marijuana worth P40.3 million in the Cordillera region from July 15 to 21.

Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. said 193,980 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,650 marijuana seedlings, 11,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops, and 29.63 grams of shabu worth a total of P40.3 million were confiscated.

Peredo said 14 marijuana eradication operations, two buy-bust operations, and one checkpoint were conducted in Kalinga where shabu and marijuana valued at P35.6 million were seized and two suspected drug pushers considered as street-levelindivuduals were arrested.

In Benguet, six suspected drug pushers were arrested and P4.5-million worth of shabu and marijuana were seized; in Ifugao, P58,000 worth of marijuana plants were destroyed; four drug pushers were caught and P93,908 worth of shabu were confiscated in Baguio City;

In Abra, two-high value drug pushers were also apprehended and P29,988 worth of shabu was seized; and in Apayao, another high-value drug pusher was during the service of a warrant of arrest.
