Singer-composer Arnoldg is a genuine artist who passionately puts his heart and soul into his songs.

In addition to composing and singing, Arnoldg can also play the guitar and keyboard and knows basic drums and music production. He shares his personal stories of life and love and weaves them into beautiful music for his audience.

Around 90 percent of his songs were born from true-to-life experiences, while the remaining 10 percent came from inspirational stories he has read, watched, or shared with him by others. “In my experience, real-life situations were always inspiring to write about. It helps make an original song because nothing is more original than our own experience, thoughts, and takes in love and life. It makes the song one of a kind,” he relates.

Arnoldg’s creative process is spontaneous. “In most cases, I usually start with a melody in mind, and then the lyrics will follow, but sometimes I do it vice versa. In some cases, which I call magical moments, I record myself in the zone of a sing and play. I will end up having a rough demo with both the melody and lyrics done simultaneously during this creative process,” he shares. Arnoldg always has his phone notes and voice memo application ready in case an idea suddenly comes up.

In one of these magical moments, his latest track, Nonchalant, was composed. The song is a pop alternative upbeat track that tells about a favorite theme in a love story: the opposite attracts. His musical ingenuity came into play on the subject and infused the song with his personal experience.

Nonchalant is inspired by an over-acting (OA) person writing a courtship love song to his nonchalant crush. Arnoldg is a self-proclaimed OA person who can express his romantic feelings by composing a song to a love interest. The track reminds the listeners of how it feels to have a crush who cannot easily decode the obvious love signs.

Arnoldg shares, “I started composing the song the night I met my nonchalant crush. When I got home, as a creative, my mind kept looking into the narrative and started writing about it. I was heavily frustrated with his nonchalant persona that we didn’t get to talk as much and I started writing the verse and chorus.” The singer has become the protagonist of his own romantic story. They met again after more than a week and ended up working together. “As soon as I got home, I was under his spell and my Nonchalant track was done and ready for production.”

Arnoldg identifies himself as a proud man who is gender fluid, which, according to him, means “I don’t really care whether you’re a man, woman, transgender, etc., where your gender identity is not my preference when it comes to emotional intimacy and in romantic relationships.”

He adds, “Gender identity is not an issue to me. When it comes to my sexual identity, for now, I can be considered who they call “Questioning Identity” in the spectrum of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am an individual who is unsure and still exploring my orientation. I want to fall in love first. I lack experience romantically and sexually to identify my sexuality specifically.”

Nonchalant is coming out with a music video that has a boys’ love (BL) theme. “I want to deliver a different theme of narratives where the experience of a homo-relationship is the same as a hetero-relationship. At the end of the day, we’re all just human beings in love. And I want to convey that message through my Nonchalant music video,” the singer-composer reveals. Arnoldg has been into the BL theme since 2018 when he started being honest to himself about his identity, orientation, and preferences.

Music started as a passion for Arnoldg that has led to a fulfilling career, eventually becoming an advocacy. “As an artist, my advocacy has always been to believe in love no matter how tough life gets. The Nonchalant music video is the prologue of my whole brand. I’ll introduce my origin as a personality and my artistry as a storyteller through my narratives in music. I want to communicate a promise that love is limitless; love has always been immeasurable. I love music, and I will keep pursuing it.”

For someone whose love for music started when he was young, Arnoldg is relentless in making a mark in the music industry. The singer-composer dreams of someday collaborating with local artists like Moira Dela Torre, KZ Tandingan, Yeng Constantino, and James Reid.

Nonchalant is now available on streaming services like iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, etc., and on his social media with the handle @heyitsarnoldg.
