“I am honored to lead the Department of Education, listen to and work with all stakeholders, and collaboratively address the challenges in the education sector,” Angara said in a statement issued Saturday, July 20.

Angara was sworn in as the 37th Secretary of the DepEd by President Marcos at Malacañang Palace on July 19.

"I am extremely grateful to His Excellency, the President, for entrusting me to lead such an important department," Angara said.

"I know how much he values education, much like every Filipino family. I look forward to working closely with him to pursue immediate reforms in our educational system for the benefit of our young learners and future generations," he added.

Angara, who convened DepEd executive officials immediately, expressed eagerness to tackle issues in basic education.

For Angara, collaborating with stakeholders would help ensure that the voices and concerns of educators, students, parents, and other relevant parties are heard and considered in the development and implementation of educational policies and programs.

By engaging with a diverse range of perspectives, Angara hopes to create more effective and inclusive solutions to improve the quality and accessibility of education in the country.

“Together, we will drive the progress our education system needs and deserves,” Angara said.
