13 illegal miners caught in Nueva Vizcaya


CAMP Major Saturnino L. Dumlao, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya – Thirteen individuals were arrested for alleged illegal mining in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, police said on Thursday.

Police identified the suspects as George, Wane, 32; Noli, 24; Jeremy, 25; Jeffrey, 26; Molly, 55; Don, 22; Jessie, 18; Jess, 18; Ian, 18; Kima, Ariel, and Nemy.

The operation was conducted following information regarding illegal mining activities in the area. They were caught in the act of transporting ore.

Seized from them were 500 bags of ore weighing approximately two tons and two vehicles.

The suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to the Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya Police Station.

Police Col. Camlon P. Nasdoman, Nueva Vizcaya police chief, coordinated with the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) for the documentation of pieces of evidence.

The suspects face appropriate cases.
