At least 100 sacks of cement fell from a 22-wheeler trailer truck along Quezon Bridge in Quiapo, Manila on Thursday morning, July 11, which caused heavy traffic.

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority- Western Traffic Enforcement District (MMDA-WTED), the truck bound for Manila came from Bulacan.

Traffic enforcers said the incident happened at around 1 a.m. but was only reported to authorities at 6 a.m.

The driver told the authorities that he just heard the rope snap and saw the sacks of cement falling from the truck.

Some of the sacks were damaged, which caused a mudslide along the Quezon Bridge.

Motorists complained because it rained and the wet cement started to harden.

Residents and Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW) members started clearing the area around 7 a.m.

The sacks of cement were given to those who helped collect and haul.

The incident caused slow-moving traffic from España and Quezon Boulevards on Thursday morning.
