Peacemaker knifed dead by nephews


SAN MATEO, Isabela – A barangay tanod or watchman was allegedly stabbed to death by his twin nephews in Barangay Pequeño here on Tuesday evening, July 9.

Police identified the victim as Marlon M. Anghel, 51.

Investigation disclosed that Anghel responded to an altercation between the suspects Norman and Ceasar Cabang, 20, and their grandmother, who ordered them to cease drinking as they are already drunk.

Norman punched and Caesar stabbed the victim. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead from multiple stab wounds.

The suspects were arrested and charged with murder. The Cabangs expressed regret over the incident and said they were not able to control their emotions due to their intoxicated state.
