The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has extended free legal aid services to the general public through the Public Assistance and Complaints Unit (PACU), benefitting thousands of individuals.

In its latest update for April 2024, the DOLE Legal Service disclosed that the PACU actively catered to 169 walk-in visitors, addressed 116 phone queries, and attended to 921 email correspondence.

It said all queries were centered on labor concerns and employment rights.

The PACU aims to expand its services to more workers in need of legal counsel, ensuring that they have access to their basic rights and legal options, the labor department noted.

For those seeking assistance from the PACU, the DOLE said they may opt to personally visit its office situated at the National Conciliation and Mediation Board – National Capital Region, DOLE Building, Intramuros, Manila, or reach out via phone at (02) 8527-3000 local 607.

Legal concerns from the public can also be relayed through the online portal at https://query.dole.gov.ph/queries/submit.
