Southstar Drug, Maxicare team up for this year’s Run for Wellness

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, one should engage in regular physical activities and exercises. Southstar Drug and Maxicare encourage Filipinos to sprint toward their best lives and become champions of their own through Run for Wellness. Now in its 13th year, Run for Wellness is an annual event that promotes physical health and well-being through running.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Maxicare again to empower Filipinos to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. Run for Wellness is meant to be a starting point for many on their wellness journey,” said Mariel Crisostomo, general manager of Southstar Drug. “It is a chance for participants to develop healthier habits to add to their daily routines.”

Run for Wellness will be held on June 16, 2024, at UP Diliman in Quezon City and on September 15, 2024, in Naga City. With the theme "Raise. Run. Rise," the race course will consist of in-race installations and activities, including boxing, pole vault, and gymnastics, that runners can try.

This year’s edition of Run for Wellness will also support the country’s national athletes. A portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to partner Filipino athletes, including Eumir Marcial, Aira Villegas, Nesthy Petecio, John Ceniza, Elreen Ando, Vanessa Sarno, Levi Jung-Ruivivar, and Joanie Delgaco, to aid them in their quest for gold in upcoming competitions.

“We are very happy to be honoring our homegrown Filipino athletes. They have always displayed great passion and dedication in bringing glory and pride to our country and inspired so many others to embrace their inner champions as well,” said Crisostomo.
