Senator Ronald “Bato’’ Dela Rosa, chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Safety, cited the critical role of the youth in the country’s campaign  against illegal drugs.

This was stressed by Dela Rosa in a meeting with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) chairman Catalino Cuy and other officials during the celebration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) and during the "#YOUthCanMakeItHappen: Laban sa Droga, Kabataan ay BIDA" event in Calamba Laguna.

By empowering the youth leaders, Dela Rosa stated that the government aims to inspire a new generation to lead and sustain the initiatives against drug abuse, securing a drug-free Philippines in the near future.

The DDB also extended its heartfelt gratitude “to all our partner agencies and organizations for joining us in celebrating the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT).’’

“Your continuous support and unwavering commitment are crucial to our advocacy of creating drug-free communities. This celebration owes its success to your invaluable contributions,’’ the DDB stated.

As part of the whole nation approach in the illegal drug campaign, the DDB conducted a learning session on “Usapang Kontra Droga’’ during the "#YOUthCanMakeItHappen: Laban sa Droga, Kabataan ay BIDA."

Michael P. Miatari of the DDB facilitated the program where the discussion empowered 200 youth leaders from various regions with essential tools to spearhead anti-drug efforts within their communities.

“The session not only raised awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and the critical issues concerning youth but also inspired these young leaders to take proactive steps in their communities,’’ the DDB said.
