‘Salvage’ victim found in Quezon


SARIAYA, Quezon – The body of a man suspected to be a “salvage” or summary execution victim was found in Barangay Castañas here on Friday night, June 28.

Police described the victim to be medium-built, aged 35 to 45, 5’4” to 5’6” in height, and wearing a striped blue T-shirt and black shorts.

The body was found on the side of the Eco-Tourism Road by a passerby who informed barangay kagawad or councilor Frederico Alday. The village official reported the discovery to lawmen.

Police said the victim’s hands were tied with a nylon cord and had bullet wounds in the back.

The victim was unknown in the area. Police suspect that he was killed elsewhere and dumped in the area to mislead investigators.
