The prevailing parallel efforts of the government will provide greater efficiency and bear more positive results for the country’s relentless campaign against illegal drug abuse.

Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Chairman Catalino Cuy said this on Friday, June 28, as he noted that the DDB, National Youth Commission (NYC), and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) led this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) celebration with the “#YOUthCanMakeltHappen: Laban sa Droga, Kabataan ay BIDA” event in Calamba, Laguna.

Beyond strengthening partnerships with other government agencies and stakeholders, Cuy stated that the event renewed the DDB’s dedication to cultivating drug-free communities and empowering youth leaders to drive meaningful change.

A total of 200 transportation network vehicle service (TNVS) drivers participated in the series of training sessions on basic anti-drug education, and road safety and traffic rules and regulations.

They also joined the “Riders Against Drugs’’ motorcade which marked the World Drug Day celebration.

According to the DDB, the campaign recognizes that effective drug policies must be rooted in science and research with full respect for human rights and a deep understanding of the social, economic, and health implications of drug use.
