Police uproot P17-M marijuana in Kalinga


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police uprooted marijuana worth P17 million in an eradication operation in Tinglayan, Kalinga on June 26.

Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. said 86,000 fully grown marijuana plants were discovered in six plantations in the area.

These were burned on the spot, he said, with samples sent to the Regional Forensic Unit-Cordillera for further analysis.

Police are actively pursuing leads to identify cultivators and conducting extensive surveys of nearby areas to find other plantations.
