Globe has partnered with Lynk Global, a leading satellite-direct-to-standard-phone service provider, to launch a pilot program that will bring mobile connectivity to remote areas of the Philippines. This collaboration will enhance connectivity and communication access of Filipinos living in places with with limited or no cell service.

The program will use Lynk's network of low-orbiting satellites to deliver basic communication services like SMS, IP messaging apps and emergency alerts.  The initial rollout will target far-flung locations like Zambales, Pangasinan, Siargao, and Leyte, including areas with existing Globe installations and tourist destinations with limited cellular coverage.

This partnership goes beyond just connecting people. Globe also plans to explore using this technology to improve communication in maritime areas, disaster zones, and fishing grounds. By using regular mobile phones, they'll be able to gather valuable data on how people use the service and develop a commercially viable product in the future.

Overall, this initiative shows Globe's commitment to bringing Filipinos together through reliable communication. By harnessing the power of satellites, they're redefining connectivity and bridging the gap between remote areas and the rest of the country.
