The inaugural TEDxAAW “Confluence” is happening this July 3

A new wave of intellectual discourse is set to take center stage. TEDxAyalaAvenueWomen (TEDxAAW), an organization dedicated to fostering conversations that inspire innovation, has announced its debut event, "Confluence." This half-day conference, scheduled for July 3rd, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM PST at the TIU Theater in Makati Central Square (previously named Makati Cinema Square), promises to be a gathering of diverse minds and perspectives, focusing on the intersection of ideas, cultures, and experiences. 

"Confluence" emphasizes the importance of diverse voices in shaping our understanding of the world. The event features accomplished speakers who will share their stories and expertise across various fields. Entrepreneurs, educators, and advocates will come together to explore the meeting points of their disciplines and backgrounds. 

Who will you hear from?

The speaker lineup at TEDxAAW is brimming with inspiring individuals. From the world of business, we have David Nilssen, CEO of DOXA Talent, who has cracked the code on building high-performing teams without traditional office spaces, and Francisco "Paco" Magsaysay, the award-winning CEO who turned his passion for ice cream into a successful empire (Carmen's Best, anyone?), and his savvy extends beyond frozen treats — he's also the brains behind Asian Vision Cable Holdings. Dr. Arpinder Bansi, a pioneering leader in promoting fairness and inclusiveness in business, will share her insights on creating a culture of respect.

In the real estate sector, Raymond Rufino, CEO of NEO — a company that owns, develops, and manages seven buildings in BGC and is one of the Philippines’ leading sustainability advocates — will discuss the power of advocacy and its crucial role in driving impact and change.

In the education sector, get ready to be invigorated by Juanita Sorrano, the founder of CodeConnect, a champion for making tech education accessible to everyone, and Nelson Buso Jr., a critical thinker and instructor at the University of the Philippines Diliman, who will break down complex concepts into clear, thought-provoking ideas. Joining them is Lijani Nakatani, founder of RS English Dynamics, who's on a mission to empower young and brilliant minds through education.

From the world of art and media, we have Pamela Reyes, an award-winning Filipino Film Producer, Director, Script Consultant, Cannes L’Atelier Cinefondation participant, and overall creative, will join us at TEDxAyala Avenue Women. Therese is a reporter, writer, and editor, currently the APAC Lead Editor for behavioral insights practice Canvas8, where she uncovers and makes sense of trends and cultural shifts. Fiona Gurtiza, a writer, content strategist, and founder of Fool's Gnosis, who combines her creative and marketing skills to inspire others. 

Dae Lee, founder of The Fourth Wall, will share his expertise in making information simple and actionable. Jared Dillinger, a professional basketball player and producer of CNN's The Future, will discuss his experiences at the intersection of sports, business, and media. Jules Schroeder, founder of Unconventional Life, will inspire you to create a life by your own design. Sam Sammane, founder of TheoSym, will discuss his work in harnessing technological advancements. Jet van Wijk, from the Netherlands, is an entrepreneur specializing in digital marketing and online business. Lisa Thomas who is a master of unlocking untapped potential, igniting radical growth, and activating global impact.
