Mayor John Rey Tiangco said the event is also part of the 17th Cityhood Anniversary celebration of the city government.

In his speech, Tiangco emphasized the importance of marriage in building strong families and communities.

“Although some of you have been together for several years, and perhaps some of you already have children, keep in mind and take to heart the value of the sacrament of marriage,” he said.

"Marriage strengthens your relationship. It binds your union and enables you to overcome any trials you might face together in the future," he added.

Among the couples were long-time partners Cirilo Arsenio, Jr. and Anabel Alcantara, who have been together for 27 years.

The mayor encouraged the newlyweds to embrace their role in shaping the city’s future.

"Teach your children self-discipline, love for others, and respect for those around them. What you teach them and what they see in you will shape their character. So be a model and inspiration to your children. They are the next leaders of our city,” he explained.
