Fishermen stabbed to death in Quezon


INFANTA, Quezon – A 54-year-old fisherman was allegedly stabbed to death by his neighbor during a heated argument before dawn on Thursday, June 20, in Visayan Village 1, Barangay Pinabican, this town.

Police identified the victim as Bonifacio Malabatuan.

Investigation said the victim confronted the suspect, Erwin, 48, because he allegedly slapped the face of Jorene, Bonifacio’s son.

A heated argument ensued and the suspect stabbed the victim several times with a bolo, resulting in his death.

The suspect fled and police conducted a follow-up operation with barangay tanods. Erwin was arrested and the bolo was recovered.

Police found five heat-sealed transparent sachets containing suspected shabu from the suspect.

Erwin is in the custody of police who are preparing a drug-related complaint and murder case.
