In an effort to promote an active lifestyle, Garmin Philippines has announced the inaugural Philippine leg of the Garmin Run Asia Series. With the theme “From Zero to Hero,” the event aims to challenge participants with an exhilarating run that pushes them beyond their comfort zones.

Prior to arriving in the Philippines, the Garmin Run was already taking place in different countries in Asia, such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Taiwan. For the first time, the run will be held in Manila, at Filinvest City, Alabang, on November 17, 2024. The race features categories of 5km, 10km, and 21km.

Across Asia, the Garmin Run has seen over 10,000 runners striving to beat personal bests and challenge themselves. Participants in the Philippine leg who complete their category within a specified time will receive an electronic certificate of achievement, a completion medal, and a special gift. Additionally, those who finish the competition will have the chance to win exclusive merchandise.

In addition to launching the run, the brand will also offer training programs for interested runners. In an interview with Manila Bulletin Lifestyle, Jules Aquino, Garmin Club coach, said that the course is open to runners of all ages, from newbies to professionals.

“Anyone can join. We’re going to have run clinics all over the Metro [Manila] from different coaches,” he said. “Though we have a guideline for how we’re going to progress the training, we will have certain coaches who specialize for 5k, 10k, and 21k. So runners and participants are going to be able to find where they best fit.”

Interested participants can register through Garmin’s official website.
