Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan invited residents, all city government officials and employees to join the activities they prepared for the "Araw ng Maynila" or the city's 453rd founding anniversary celebration on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Lacuna-Pangan urged the Manileños to take pride in being a part of the country's capital city.

The mayor said a civil-military parade will be held along Dagonoy Street corner Onyx Street this year and will be participated in by all city employees and various Manila-based organizations in celebration of the occasion.

"Lahat ay hinikikayat ko bilang pagdiriwang na tayo ay magkita-kita sa Lunes, June 24, sa Dagonoy at Onyx para sa ating taunang civil-military parade. Kayo ay bahagi ng lungsod ng Maynila kaya marapat lamang na kasama namin kayong lahat sa pagdiriwang ng napakahalang araw na ito (I encourage everyone in celebration that we meet on Monday, June 24, at Dagonoy corner Onyx Streets for our annual civil-military parade. You are part of the City of Manila so it is only fitting that we all join you in celebrating this special day)," the lady mayor said.

"Sa susunod na linggo, sa Lunes, ay ipagdiriwang na natin ang ika-453 taon ng pagkakatatag ng lungsod ng Maynila, isang bagay na hindi natin dapat balewalain dahil sa loob ng 453 years at hinubog ang Maynila bilang tunay na karapat- dapat bilang kapitolyo ng ating bansa (Next week, on Monday, we will celebrate the 453rd year of the founding of the City of Manila, something we should not ignore because in 453 years, we shaped Manila as a truly worthy capital of our country)."

In line with this, the mayor thanked all those who have helped Manila become what it is today, as a leader among all other cities in the country.

"Sa lahat ng mga katulong natin sa paglilingkod, pribado man o kasama natin sa trabaho, maraming-maraming salamat sa inyong lahat (To all our helpers in the service, whether private or with us at work, thank you all very much)," she said.

She commended and thanked the city government's partners from the private sector and even individuals who have been helping Manila in many ways. She said some of them were given due recognition and awards during the "Gawad Mañileno 2024."
