Pop star Justin Timberlake was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, authorities said on Tuesday.

The pop superstar was still in custody in the affluent Hamptons community of Sag Harbor on Tuesday morning, amid a lengthy U.S. tour, confirmed the Sag Harbor Village Police to NBC News.

Authorities said Timberlake, 43, will face a DWI charge.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office released an official statement. It read:

"Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor for Driving While Intoxicated.

"He will be arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court this morning. At this time, we have no further comment," it stated.

The NBC News reported: "Timberlake had dined at The American Hotel in Sag Harbor and then headed to a friend’s house when he was pulled over by police."
