Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said in a Facebook post that he has known Vice President Duterte since she was a child and admired her selflessness and unconditional love for the country. He added that whatever her reason for formally leaving all her Cabinet posts, it was well thought out.

“I believe it was a choice that took into consideration the best interest of our people, as has always been characteristic of her. Of that I am sure,” said Dela Rosa who is hoping for the Vice President to find peace and comfort in her situation.

Dela Rosa also said that regardless of function and position, whatever future decisions the Vice President makes to serve the country better, he will always support her. He added that he fully trusts that Lady Duterte will continue to fulfill her mandate as the country’s Vice President.

“I fully trust that she will continue to help uplift the lives of every Filipino. After all, beyond her titles, her integrity defines her leadership. And it is this integrity that she shall always uphold,” the senator who hails from Davao said.

Mr. Realtalker, a vlogger and resident here, said in his vlog that the Vice President made such a right and wise decision. He said he was happy with her decision and hoped she would avoid the administration’s Cabinet.

“It would be best for her to just do her job as Vice President of the country. VP Sara, we are here for you. Our support remains solid. We will wait for you until you become the next president of the Philippines,” Mr. Realtalker said in a local dialect.

The Inday Sara Nation thanked Vice President Duterte for her commendable service in the DepEd. It added that the group members are proud of the reforms made under her leadership.

House Deputy Minority leader and ACT Teachers party-list Rep. France Castro welcomed Vice President Duterte’s resignation and said Lady Duterte could have done this sooner.

“The resignation of VP Duterte from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Cabinet also marks the open war between the former allies and the upcoming escalation of hostilities between the two camps,” added Castro who hopes Marcos would accept the resignation and appoint someone from the education sector.

Vice President Duterte said her resignation effective July 19 is not a sign of weakness but was borne out of genuine concern for teachers and the Filipino youth. She clarified that she will continue to uphold the quality of education that the Filipino people deserve.
