P21.4-M shabu, marijuana recovered in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police seized shabu and marijuana worth P21.4 million and arrested 13 suspected drug pushers in anti-drug campaign the Cordillera region from June 10 to 16.

Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. said confiscated in 37 operations were 84,470 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,500 marijuana seedlings, 5,309.37 marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, 28,000 grams of marijuana stalks, and 26.58 grams of shabu.

Nine of those arrested were high-value targets and four were street-level individuals.

Most of the illegal drugs – worth P14,060,840 – were confiscated in Kalinga province where five buy-bust operations, three search warrants, and response to an incident that resulted in the arrest of four drug pushers were conducted.

Six bullets were recovered from the suspects.
