House Speaker Martin Romualdez on Sunday, June 16 extended his greeting to "the amazing fathers, grandfathers, and father figures throughout our nation" on the occasion of Father's Day.

"Today is a special day to honor and appreciate the incredible love, sacrifice, and dedication you show every day," Speaker Romualdez said in a statement.

"Being a father myself, I understand the joys and challenges that come with this role. It's not always easy, but the smiles, the laughter, and the moments of pride make it all worthwhile," noted the leader of the 300-plus strong House of Representatives.

Speaker Romualdez looked back at the legacy left to hum his own father, former Leyte Governor and Ambassador to the United States (US) Benjamin Romualdez.

"I am deeply grateful for the invaluable lessons my own father taught me and the strength he showed in times of adversity. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled in me, and I strive to pass those same values on to my children," he said.

"Today, let's also take a moment to remember and honor the fathers who are no longer with us. Their love and guidance continue to shape our lives and inspire us to be the best versions of ourselves," he added.

"To all fathers out there, thank you for your boundless love and unwavering commitment. You are the pillars of strength in your families and in our communities. May you be celebrated not just today, but every day, for all that you do," the House leader further said.
