More than P3.5 million worth of shabu confiscated in Rizal anti-illegal drugs operations


Simultaneous joint operations by the Rizal government’s anti-illegal drugs operatives resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs worth more than P3,500,000 from June 13 to 15.

The biggest haul happened on June 13 in Taytay, Rizal where P3,450,000 worth of shabu were seized by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Taytay Police from two high value individuals.

Arrested in the drug sting were "Jamil," 24, and "Abdullatip," 20, both residing in Barangay San Juan. They are now facing charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Rizal Police Provincial Office Director PCol. Felipe Maraggun said separate police operations against other illegal drug suspects were conducted by various police stations in the province from June 14, to the early morning of June 15.

Operatives seized a total of P104,040 worth of illegal drugs in the operations and arrested nine individuals.

Region 4-A Police Director Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas commended the PPO for the series of operations against all forms of criminalities, including illegal drug trading in the province, and reminded the police force of the mandate of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in ensuring public service as directed by PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.
