American R&B singer-songwriter Angela Bofill has passed away. She was 70.

People.com reported that Angela died at her daughter's home in California on June 13.

Angela's demise was shared on her personal Facebook on June 14 twice.

The first post read: "ON BEHALF OF MY DEAR FRIEND ANGIE, I AM SADDENED TO ANNOUNCE HER PASSING ON THE MORNING OF JUNE 13TH. THE FUNERAL WILL BE HELD AT ST. DOMINCKS CHURCH IN VALEJO CA. ON JUNE 28TH AT 1:00 pm."

The second update read: "JUST TO CLEAR UP THE CONFUSION. ON BEHALF OF SHAUNA BOFILL, HUSBAND CHRIS PORTUGUESE, WE ARE SADDENED BUT MUST REPORT THAT THE PASSING OF ANGELA YESTERDAY IS INDEED TRUE. WE THANK MELBA MOORE AND MAYSA FOR THEIR EARLY CONDOLENCES. THANKS FOR YOUR MANY POST. RICH ENGEL friend and ​manager.​"

In 2020, it was reported that Angela died. But it turned out to be a hoax.

“Friends calling up, ‘Oh my God, am I talking to the ghost of Angela Bofill?’ Thank God it’s not true,” she told the outlet, according to People.com.

The rumors came after Angela suffered two strokes in​ 2006 and 2007​.

Angela blasted into the music scene with her debut album, Angie, in 1978.

​In the Philippines, Angela was a big hit among music fans.

She even did a duet with Sharon Cuneta for the song "This Time I'll Be Sweeter" in 1983.

Other hits by Angela include "Tonight I Give In," "You Should Know By Now," "I Try," "Angel of the Night," "Too Tough," "Break It To Me Gently," and "I Just Wanna Stop."
