Mayor Honey urges nursing graduates to apply for jobs at Manila hospitals

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan on Friday, June 14, urged all nursing graduates from the city's universities to consider providing their services in Manila and to their fellow Manileños.

Lacuna-Pangan made the call as she congratulated the students who passed the recent nursing licensure exams from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and Universidad de Manila (UdM).

She hoped that the new registered nurses might consider applying to any of the six hospitals run by the city so they could serve their fellow residents.

Meanwhile, the mayor cited PLM under the stewardship of President Domingo Reyes, Jr., for bringing the university to greater heights.

She expressed pride as PLM had been recognized as the “Top Performing School” with a 100 percent passing rate in the May 2024 Nursing Licensure Exams.

She proudly noted that four of the top 10 students who achieved the highest scores in the nursing exam were from PLM.

The local chief also mentioned PLM's performance in the 2024 Chemical Engineers Licensure Exam, where it was recognized as the Top Four Performing School with an 89.19 percent performance rating.

The university also produced the exam's sixth placer, Christian Jaimie Rejano, who scored 84.8 percent.

Another PLM student, Anne Kiana Hernandez San Juan, who took the Professional Teacher Elementary Level exam, gained 9th place with an average score of 90.80 percent.
