P4.2-M marijuana seized in Kalinga, Benguet


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police destroyed marijuana worth P4.2 million in eradication operations in Kalinga and Benguet on June 11.

The Kalinga Police Provincial Office said 14,250 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P2.8 million were uprooted in Barangay Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

A 21-year-old suspected drug pusher was nabbed in Barangay Poblacion, Tinglayan thereafter.

Police noted the suspect acting suspiciously and approached him.

They noticed that his bag was partially opened and upon inspection, they discovered five bundles of dried marijuana leaves weighing five kilos and valued at P600,000.

Five kilos of dried marijuana plants and 1,150 fully grown marijuana plants worth P830,000 were discovered and destroyed in  towns of Bakun and Kibungan in Benguet.
