MRT-3, LRT-2 to give free rides on Independence Day


Commuters can ride Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) for free during selected hours on Wednesday, June 12, in celebration of the country’s 126th Independence Day.

In an advisory, the MRT-3 management announced the free ride service will start at 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the train’s peak hours.

Meanwhile, free rides on the LRT-2 are available on the same schedule.

It said that the first trip on both Recto and Antipolo stations on Wednesday will start at 5 a.m.

The last trip on Antipolo will be at 9:00 p.m. and on Recto at 9:30 p.m.
