2GO: 630 ship passengers safely reach Palawan after technical difficulties

Passengers of a Puerto Princesa City-bound vessel have already reached their destination safely after encountering a technical difficulty on June 8.

In a statement, 2GO said the MV Saint Francis Xavier was already given a clearance to sail on June 10, which led to the safe transportation of its passengers after making a stopover in Coron.

The ship resumed normal operations and docked at the port of Puerto Princesa with 630 passengers on board at 12:54 pm on June 10 after experiencing a delay at the port of Coron due to technical issues and low tide that affected the vessel.

“Passengers who stayed in Coron were provided meals and were offered alternative means to travel to Puerto Princesa, and option to refund or revalidate their ticket,” 2GO statement read.

Coron and Manila-bound passengers from Puerto Princesa are also expected to depart the port at 5:30 pm on June 10.

The ship is expected to arrive at the port of Coron at 5:30 am on June 11.

Passengers have been informed of the changes in travel time.

“We assure the public that 2GO Travel remains committed to deliver safe and secure travel for our passengers,” it said.
