Over 6,500 land, sea-based jobs available on DMW's Independence Day job fair

More than 6,500 land-based and sea-based jobs will be available during the Independence Day mega job fair on Wednesday, June 12, of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said the job fair will be held at the Level 3 of the Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas and will be participated in by 21 participating recruitment agencies.

A total of 6,558 approved job orders will be available, according to Cacdac, as he urged interested applicants to come early for the 9:30 a.m. registration. The job fair will be until 4 p.m.

The job fair is part of the celebration of the 126th Independence Day celebration and was made possible through the DMW’s Pre-Employment and Government Placement Bureau (PEGPB).

In his message for the Migrant Workers’ Day, Cacdac recognized the contribution of overseas Filipino workers and committed to strengthen programs and services to ensure their welfare.

“You are our modern-day heroes who, with unwavering dedication and sacrifice, build a brighter future not just for yourselves and your families but also for our beloved country. From the bottom of our hearts, we acknowledge the personal sacrifices you make, such as being away from your loved ones, and for this, we commit to working tirelessly for you,” said Cacdac.

“The DMW is here for you every single step of the way. And we are committed to strengthening our programs and services to protect your rights and ensure your welfare. We will work tirelessly to build and upgrade your skills, provide legal and welfare assistance when needed, and support your reintegration into the national mainstream when you decide to return home for good,” he added.
