Farmer killed in lightning strike in Pangasinan


CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – A 22-year-old farmer was killed by a lightning strike on Sunday afternoon, June 9, in Barangay Sampaloc, Bolinao, Pangasinan.

Police identified the victim as Roland A. Millamina, 22, a resident of Barangay Paitan East, Sual, Pangasinan.

The victim went out of his house during a thunderstorm to buy cigarettes. However, upon reaching an open field, he was struck by lightning and slumped to the ground.

Millamina was taken to the Bolinao Community Hospital where he was declared dead.

Meanwhile, Michael R. Perez, 36, a farmer and a resident of Sitio Manandag, Barangay Bega, San Carlos City, Pangasinan, died after he was electrocuted in Sitio Manandag, Barangay Bega, San Carlos City.

The victim was reportedly painting the roof of his auntie's house when he accidentally touched a live wire and was electrocuted. 

Perez was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
