QC police arrest 2 men for poking gun at a father and child


Police arrested a retired Army officer and his companion for allegedly threatening a father and his 13-year-old boy with a gun in Novaliches, Quezon City, on May 7.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) identified the suspects as Eduardo Hate, 47, a resident of Barangay Sta. Lucia, Novaliches, Quezon City, and Ronald Abila, 55, a retired Army officer, of Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Based on the police report, the victim and his 13-year-old boy were sitting in front of their house at Nenita Extension RP, Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City, on Tuesday, May 7, when the drunk suspects appeared and pointed a gun at them while threatening them.

The victims immediately sought assistance from the patrolling police officers of PS 4, who quickly responded and arrested the suspects.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects  a .45-caliber Armscor gun with five live ammunition. However, the firearm used by Hate in threatening the victims was not recovered.

The apprehended suspects will be charged with grave threat and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
