President Marcos is not under the impression that police officers are part of the destabilization plots against him and his administration, saying he has not received any reports to suggest that they are turning their backs on him.

Marcos said this after former senator Antonio Trillanes IV claimed that there was a brewing destabilization against the present administration from the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In an interview, the President does not think that police officers were participating in efforts to destabilize his government.

"Wala kaming report na in the ranks. Iyong mga retired baka mayroon, mayroong mga gumagalaw, sumasama sa mga destab na ginagawa (There's no report among the ranks. Maybe the retired ones, they are taking part in the destabilization plot)," he said.

"Pero sa ating mga kapulisan, at siyempre lalo na sa officer corps, wala naman tayong nakikitang ganun na namumulitika ang mga police (But from our police, especially in our officer corps, we don't see them engaging in politics)," he added.

According to Marcos, there was no need for a loyalty check among members of the PNP, saying such a test does not even prove anything.

"Hindi ko alam kung ano yung loyalty check [sa] katotohanan (I don't know what loyalty check is, to be honest)," he said.

"Anong sasabihin mo doon sa tao? Sasabihin, 'loyal ka ba sa akin?' Siyempre, oo ang sagot noon 'di ba kahit na hindi siya loyal sa 'yo (You'll ask a person if they're loyal to you? Of course they'll say 'yes' even if they're not)," he added.

Meanwhile, President Marcos reiterated that it did not matter if the police voted for him in 2022 as long as they remained professional.

"Kahit hindi mo ako binoto okay lang sa akin basta't maging professional ka (It's okay if you didn't vote for me as long as you stay professional)," he said.

"Gawin mo yung trabaho mo nang tama. Iyon lang naman ang hinihiling ko sa lahat ng police, sa lahat ng armed forces (Do your job right. That's all I ask of our police and all our armed forces)," he added.
