'Hindi ito scam': DOH clarifies '22566345' mobile survey for non-communicable disease awareness


Due to the proliferation of short message service (SMS) scams, the Department of Health (DOH) clarified on Monday, May 6, that the "22566345" is "not a scam" number but for the third non-communicable disease (NCD) mobile phone survey.

"This survey is NOT A SCAM and is completely FREE. It will have two mechanisms: through online and through text messaging," DOH said in a social media post.

The number "22566345," DOH said, is connected to the agency and assured the public that it has undergone the proper implementation process.

The first NCD survey was initiated in 2018 to understand on how Filipinos maintain their health.

This was followed by a second mobile phone health survey in 2018, which focused on the five NCD risk factors: tobacco use, alcohol use, diet, diabetes, and hypertension.

The country's health department emphasized that the third NCD mobile phone survey will help in shaping plans and programs of the DOH regarding NCDs, as well as communicable diseases.

The DOH then noted that the remaining four weeks of its implementation can expand knowledge about the said kind of diseases.

"Let us all participate in answering to deepen our understanding of Noncommunicable Diseases, because in the New Philippines (Bagong Pilipinas), Every Life Matters," DOH said, noting the importance of the initiative.
