Filipino singer and record producer Nick Vera Perez, the current Mr. United Nations International (Mr. USA United Nations 2023) and a multi-awarded recording artist based in Chicago, is in the country to promote his second album titled “Laging Ikaw.”

“Laging Ikaw” is the carrier single of the same-titled album released during the pandemic in 2021. The crowd massively welcomed it, having the song listened to by more than one million downloads within five days of release.

Aside from “Laging Ikaw,” his other albums are “I Am Ready,”  “Our Christmas,” “Parte Ng Buhay Ko,” and “UnAfraid.”

He also performed “Laging Ikaw” for several guest appearances, including Showtime Online, Myx Global Online, the KUMU streaming app, and more.

The album has 12 tracks available on 220 digital platforms in our favorite music libraries.

Nick recently finished his doctorate in Nursing at Walden University, where he also completed his Master of Nursing with a concentration in Nurse Executive. He is taking his fourth degree as a nurse practitioner to become a DNP (doctorate nurse practitioner)—NP (nurse practitioner).  

A singing nurse-doctor indeed.

Nick arrived in Manila last Friday,  May 3, via All Nippon Airways First Class and will do mall shows with some radio/television guestings while in the country.

The "Laging Ikaw ' album tour was launched during Nick's homecoming media conference at Max's Restaurant in SM City, North Edsa.

Nick is scheduled to perform the tour beginning in his hometown, Zamboanga City, by KCC Mall de Zamboanga at the Atrium on May 9 from 3-6 p.m.

He is performing for the beautiful community of General Santos at the SM city GenSan on Mother's Day (May 12, 2024, from 3-6 p.m.) and in Davao City (Gaisano City Gate) by May 14, 2024, of the same time slot.

He flies back to Manila with his beloved mother Visitacion Tan, his aunt Carmelita Ico, and his wonderful new-found talent as his special guest on all his tours this time around, Evelyn Francia, who is a known singer in Chicago for her angelic yet powerful vocals when demanded.

Local talents are invited to perform with him in all his mall shows combined. 

In the meantime, we will see him at Farmer’s Plaza in Cubao on May 18 (Saturday), Star Mall EDSA-Shaw on May 19 (Sunday), Isetann Recto on May 23 (Thursday), and Sta. Lucia on May 24 (Friday).

"Maraming surprises sa show lalo na on Mother's Day. We're also giving grocery baskets, t-shirts, and bracelets. We will have sponsors like Beautederm," Nick said.

The singer-record producer hopes to collaborate with his OPM icons — Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid, and Ariel Rivera — on future projects.

But Nick recalled meeting Ariel when he joined a singing contest in his younger years. "I won second place in the competition. Since then, hindi ko na siya makalimutan. Hindi ko na yata nakamayan siya noon kasi umalis na siya kaagad." 

(I won second place in the competition. Since then, I can't forget him. I don't think I got to shake his hand because he left right away.)
