Police net P31-M shabu, marijuana in Western Visayas

ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 seized suspected shabu and marijuana worth P31 million in Western Visayas from May 1 to 15.

Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, said 4.2 kilos of shabu valued at P29 million and two kilos of marijuana worth P2.4 million were seized from 160 suspected drug pushers in 130 anti-illegal drug operations.

“These arrests and seizure of illegal drugs bespeak of your dedication on your sworn duties. Keep the fire burning as we are gearing higher to arrest more individuals who opt to engage in the illegal drug trade,” said Wanky.

Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson, said that the PRO-6 Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-6) had the biggest haul with 1.8 kilos of shabu worth P12.5 million.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) arrested the most number of drug pushers with 57.
