CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera seized shabu and marijuana worth P17.7 million and arrested four suspected drug pushers in Benguet, Kalinga, and Baguio City from May 20 to 26.
Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., PRO-Cordillera chief, said the suspects were two high-value individuals and two street-level individuals.
Peredo said the Kalinga Police Provincial Office arrested two and the Baguio City Police Office and Benguet PPO nabbed one each.
The suspects yielded 8.82 grams of shabu and seven grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops valued at P60,816.
They face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police conducted 12 marijuana eradication operations in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga in which 26,945 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,500 marijuana seedlings, and 102 kilos of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops worth P17.6 million were confiscated.
The Cordillera police continue to carry out community visits and information campaigns to reinforce the anti-illegal drugs initiatives of the Philippine National Police.
