Playing various roles as a child actress, Xia Vigor never expected to have new experiences after taking a break from showbiz and relocating to Mindoro during the pandemic.

During her interview for TicTalk with Aster Amoyo on YouTube on May 10, the 14-year-old actress revealed that she learned how to plow and plant rice in her mother's hometown.

"Tinuruan po ako mag-araro, tapos sobrang interested din po ako to try new things. So it was really an exciting for me, although medyo mabigat po siya pero it was something new for me and I'm glad that I did it," Xia said.

(I was taught how to plow, and I was very interested in trying new things. It was exciting for me, although it was a bit heavy. It was something new for me, and I'm glad that I did it.)

Xia also mentioned that learning those things made her realize how important and hardworking farmers are.

"Natry ko din po magtanim ng palay...It was a bit hard, but magandang experience po siya sa akin kasi naintindihan ko po kung gaano ka-hardworking yung mga farmers," she added.

(I also attempted to grow rice. It was challenging, but it gave me a valuable understanding of the hard work put in by farmers.)

Being the city girl that she is, Xia's decision to take a break from showbiz allowed her to focus on her education and live the normal life of a teenager in Mindoro.

"Nagstop po talaga ako sa showbiz nun to focus on my school, it was such a new environment for me since nasanay nga po ako sa city, pero I'm really grateful na dinala po ako ng mom ko dun during the pandemic kasi marami din po ako naging friends dun. Hindi po ako naka-adjust agad pero after a month po nandun kami mabilis ako nakihalo sa mga bata dun and masaya po ako nakatry po ako malaro ng patintero," she added.

(I took a break from showbiz to focus on my studies. It was a new environment for me since I was used to the city, but I'm grateful that my mom brought me there during the pandemic. I made new friends there. It took me a while to make adjustments, but after a month of staying there, I quickly mingled with the other children, and I was happy to try and play patintero.)

At a young age, Xia's parents decided to part ways, leading her mom to move to the Philippines with her brother Liam.

According to Xia, her parents' separation never affected her because she was raised in a loving and caring home by her mom.

"Never naman po ako naapektuhan, because I grew up in a well-loved family. Si mommy, never niya pinapa feel sa akin na lonely ako, na hindi ko kasama sa mismong bahay si daddy, tsaka we see him yearly naman po," Xia said.

Without her father in the picture, Xia's mom ensured her children had the best childhood by going on adventures and traveling.

"Never ko naman po nafeel na hindi kumpleto yung family ko, kasi si mommy po mahilig po siya sa mga adventures tulad ko. Laging kaming nagtatravel together, masaya po talaga yung kami," she added.

(I never felt that my family was incomplete because mommy loves adventures like me. We always travel together, we are really happy.)
