The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has committed to support activities for cervical cancer screening services nationwide.

Lawyer Olivia O. Obrero-Samson, DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) assistant director, made the pledge as she ensured that the agency will work closely with employers and workers in the private industry for the strict implementation of the Advisory No. 20, Series of 2023 or the Guidelines on the Implementation of the Workplace Policy and Program on Cancer Prevention and Control in the Private Sector.

It was signed by Labor Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma on September 15, 2023 in accordance with Section 18 of Republic Act No. 11215 or the National Integrated Cancer Control Act.

Samson further stated that the department will prioritize employers and workers who have implemented guidelines within their company to address cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, return to work, compensation, and social policies.
