  • “We’re on the same journey of finding these answers ourselves — of why life is fleeting. And with that hope comes the strength and courage we need to keep going, to keep loving, and to keep on finding meaning in our experiences.”

The spotlight shines on the multi-awarded Filipino folk-pop band Ben&Ben this May as they debut their introspective song “Comets” under Sony Music Entertainment and unveil their new concept store, Liwanag House.

Set to the melody of the acclaimed ensemble’s chart-topping track “Araw-Araw,” a fresh video campaign commemorates the grand opening of Liwanag House at Robinsons Galleria. The cinematic showcases members of the collective venturing through the lively corners of the mall, immersing themselves in love, joy, and happiness within its familiar embrace.

From savoring delectable meals to indulging in retail therapy, the campaign highlights the diverse offerings that make Robinsons Malls, deemed as a destination for creating cherished memories.

Liwanag House is at once a store and a community hub where fans can participate in special activities and personalized experiences. The nine-piece act envisions it as a place for gatherings, where everyone feels heard, valued, and welcomed. It’s also the go-to spot for exclusive releases and limited-edition merchandise.

On the musical front, Ben&Ben invites listeners on a journey of self-introspection with their new single “Comets,” an emotional exploration of the ephemeral nature of relationships and the mixed feelings of loss and hope they bring.

The latest release delves into the pain of disconnections and the process of coming to terms with them. Despite its melancholy, the song ends on a note of gratitude and hope. “Though mostly dwelling on that feeling of loss, the song ends with the hopeful realization of gratitude—being thankful for ever having experienced any of it at all,” the band explains.

Songwriters Paolo and Miguel Benjamin were inspired by the many losses they’ve encountered over the past four years, including breakups and the end of friendships and professional relationships.

The song, which has undergone several iterations since 2021, captures this journey and aims to help listeners navigate similar experiences in their own lives.

The band collaborated with Indonesian producer Petra Sihombing, who added crucial touches to the track, helping it reach its final, polished form. “The band probably had about 90 percent of the song down, but it was Petra's very weighty 10 percent that really helped make the song what it is now,” Ben&Ben recounts.

TIMELESS TRACK 'Comets' has been in the works since 2021 and can now be streamed on all digital platforms

“Though these nights are turning gray, still I am thankful for what’s passed. I know there will come a day when I will finally understand,” said the band as they put emphasis on gratitude and hope existing even without fully understanding the “whys” behind life’s fleeting moments.

“We’re on the same journey of finding these answers ourselves — of why life is fleeting. And with that hope comes the strength and courage we need to keep going, to keep loving, and to keep on finding meaning in our experiences.”

“Comets” is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide.
